Welcome aboard - Benvenuti a bordo

We always dreamed of walking on the deck of a World War II battleship, a ship 250 meters long which housed almost 2000 people. A ship that no longer exists if not in the bottom of the sea.
Finally we are proud to show this virtual reality project we are working on: a walk aboard the WWII Italian Battleship “Roma”.
Some years ago we produced “Inferno di fuoco”, a documentary about the sinking of this battleship. For this reason we did an high detailed 3d model of the "Roma". So we decided to utilize this model to make a virtual journey on the ship.
And now, for the first time after seventy years, it's possible to walk on the deck of the battleship “Roma”.
Actually we are refining all the procedures to make the navigation system work properly and we are finishing up convert all the 3d models and textures that compose the exterior of the ship. It's a lot of work!

The virtual tour can be viewed in stereoscopic 3d which offers an incredible experience.

This project include only a virtual tour over the main exterior decks. In the future we'd like to extend the journey inside the ship into the major interior locals and decks.
Will follow posts with explanations, news, making of and, why not, a playable free demo.

Stay tuned!
